Dan has over 20 years’ experience within the sector, having worked across an impressive variety of roles in that time.  Starting out in Ladbrokes betting shops; he has since worked in online and land-based tier one and smaller operators in senior compliance, risk, finance, audit and operational roles, most notably Head of Risk at SkyBet, Head of Safer Gambling at William Hill and Operations Director at LeoVegas. He also spent time leading GamCare’s industry services team. 

Dan spent 1.5 years as Compliance Director at the Gambling Commission leading its compliance team to supervise and assess over 2,500 licensees. He led the development of a new compliance approach and assessment framework rolled out in mid-2024. He worked closely with the Licensing and Enforcement teams to manage operators through the lifecycle of application, compliance activity and enforcement work.

Dan holds qualifications in governance, risk and compliance as well as accountancy, audit and project management. He is a member of the International Compliance Association.
